Chess
The Woods Chess Team is open to all students in 3rd–6th grade who are interested in learning and playing chess. Students meet during lunch for practices where they build strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and good sportsmanship while enjoying friendly competition. Advisors register students for one CVSCA chess tournament each semester, and families are also welcome to have their students participate in additional tournaments with parent supervision. The program is a great opportunity for students to challenge themselves, connect with peers, and grow their love of the game.
