Clovis Unified’s Measure A is on the ballot this November. Measure A is a facility bond measure that maintains a stable tax rate and would provide for:

Safety, energy efficiency and technology upgrades for ALL schools.
Modernization and repairs to aging schools.
Completion of our new high school to ease overcrowding.

Instruction & Intervention

The staff at Woods Elementary is devoted to supporting the academic acheivement of all students. Teachers deliver best first time instruction of grade level standards and are quick to identify students in need of additional support. Focus groups are created for small group instruction and intervention. Instructional time is evaluated and organized to ensure consistency of small group meetings that target specific student needs.

Professional Development & PLC Teams

A variety of professional development opportunities are available. Woods Elementary staff regularly attend grade level curriculum rollouts to engage in a closer look at curriculum and assessments. For the past several years, Woods Elementary has also focused on Visible Learning and how to partner with students in building ownership of their learning. Professional Learning Community (PLC) teams composed of classroom teachers and school support staff collaborate regularly to share data, discuss intervention plans and strategies to further student mastery of standards. These PLC Teams take into account the school focus through professional development and use strategies to strengthen the delivery of lessons and intervention meetings that further support student achievement.
