Recent changes to 2011-12 school calendar include new day off

On July 13, the Governing Board approved a slight modification to the 2011-12 school calendar in order to better prepare for the start of the school year, and to improve delivery of the annual parent-teacher conferences that occur at the elementary school level each October. In part, these changes include closing all schools Monday, Oct. 31 to observe a district-wide furlough day resulting from California’s school budget cuts.

Also in October, schools will be closed Oct. 10 in observance of Columbus Day. Campus Club will not operate on Oct. 10 or Oct. 31.

This year’s annual elementary school conference day will be held Friday, Oct. 28; elementary students will not attend school on this day to allow for parent/teacher conferences while secondary schools will remain in session. Full-day Campus Club programs will be available Oct. 28.
